Continuing our thoughts from Monday which are taken from a teaching by Pastor Dan Mohler. We see that Adam was created in God’s image. Eve had come out from Adam, flesh of his flesh, bone of his bone. She was not a separate lump of clay. This is important. They were once one and God made them two so that they could again be made one. Why?
We saw that God wanted children. He wanted something to manifest and multiply Himself into. He wanted a way to share himself. We are that sharing, that multiplying, we are God’s seed, His children. We are here to perpetuate God.
God likes to paint pictures for us. He likes to show us things as images, word pictures, stories, parables…
Initially Adam was chosen to manifest God’s image, so that the whole of creation would know God through him, but as Adam failed, we see God perpetuate this same principal as He chooses the nation of Israel. They would now be chosen to manifest His image so that the whole earth would know God through their manifestation of Him. But alas, Israel also fails. They chose not to manifest God’s image and instead corrupt It before men every chance that they get. The misrepresent God on all fronts. Failure after failure, Moses pleads mercy and forgiveness for the children of Israel because of their corruptions. We see one of these occasions discussed in Numbers 14. As Moses intercedes for the children of Israel, God himself prophesies and says to Moses that though Israel has failed that there would one day be a generation that would manifest Him rightly. Numbers 14:21 says that God said“as truly as I (God) live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.”
Since this was God speaking we can be sure that this prophecy will be fulfilled! We can take this one to the bank. God was saying to Moses, I know that this doesn’t look anything like me, and I made them to look just like me, but AS SURELY AS I LIVE, there will be a people on this earth that will manifest me properly. And the whole earth WILL be filled with My Glory! Hallelujah!
Adam had failed. Israel had failed. Now what? We needed some help. We needed to understand the WAY to do this…enter JESUS.
Now Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life. Jesus came and showed us the way. He showed us how to manifest God the right way! He is our example! He showed us what to do! He said “follow Me”!
We my sisters and brothers are a part of God. We are called to rightly manifest Him. We have come forth from God and we can be made one with Him again. Jesus said that He came out from the Father and that He was returning to the Father. In John 17:5 Jesus says: And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Do you see it? Do you see that picture of Adam and Eve in that? The Father and Jesus were One, Jesus came out from the Father, only for Jesus to become One again with the Father. Now Jesus says the same is to be for us. This is the beautiful picture He portrayed to us from the beginning, when He made Eve, taken from Adam. Taken from the same lump of clay, the one that became two, only to become one again. This is all things. Eve was taken from Adam to come alongside him, to be the help meet for him. We are the same to our Lord. An extension of Him, a help meet for Him. To walk with Him to commune with each other, to love each other. All things are taken out of the Father and all things are to return to the Father. He is the Father of all Spirits. There is no life apart from God. We come from God, we come out of God, the Life is in God, the only way to Life is to join back as one with God. Eternal Life is to know God. (John 17:3) To be one with God.
Adam knew his wife, we are to know God. We are to become the bride of Christ. The marriage of Adam and Eve is actually a picture of our coming out of God and being joined back to God. To love God and to love eachother as we love ourself because we are all one.
John 17:20-23 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through- their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
God bless you my dear ones. Enjoy the beauty of our Lord today.
