I am still in my thoughts on Love and Light. Drawing from last week we were focusing on being one with God, coming from Him who is Love, and being drawn from Him, born of Him, to manifest and multiply His Image. We found this in His beautiful word picture that He drew for us in Adam and Eve.
But what are we manifesting?
1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is Love.”
1 John 1:5 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
It struck me as I read Brenda’s reply to Monday morning’s thread, that light is so brilliant. It really does overcome darkness. There is no contest. Light has already won. If you close your eyes and imagine a dark place it only takes the smallest bit of light, a match, a candle, just a glimmer of light, the darkness will be no more. In the presence of light there simply is no darkness. But try to imagine a room full of light, how do you bring darkness into a space flooded with light? You can occlude the light, block the light perhaps, but darkness can not overcome light. It just doesn’t work that way. You can’t flood a lit room with darkness. Where there is light there simply is no darkness. It is such a simple concept. Light overcomes dark. There is no darkness where there is light. Darkness is the absence of light, but light is not the absence of darkness…Light is something else entirely. And Light is GREATER.
As I wrote the paragraph above Holy Spirit illuminated me and brought me back into Genesis 1! Ooh, I am so excited!! Genesis 1:1-2 “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. And the earth was without form and void, and DARKNESS was on the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be LIGHT; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the LIGHT from the DARKNESS.”
Wow, it is all right there, and again, page 1! What wonders God shows us right from the beginning. The darkness was, but Light overcame and was separated from darkness, the two cannot coexist. The darkness that was, is no more, because of the presence of the glory of LIGHT. From the beginning He is the Victor!
I am sorry, my spirit is crying out as I type and I feel that Holy Spirit is high-jacking the message… I will preface this with noting that this is directed towards myself first, but the Exhorter in me is crying out that we are in unbelief! I will ask again, what are we manifesting? Why is the earth still full of darkness? Because we (human beings) are drawing to, manifesting, and perpetuating darkness rather than Light. It makes no matter to God, He is Light no matter what and will always overcome no matter what, but He is calling us forth! He desires us, He would that no man would perish! Even now I hear His cry, come out of darkness, come into the Light. Come to the Victor! Come my children!
Come out of unbelief, come out of anger, come out of sin, come out of doubt. Come out of vanity and pride. Come out of jealousy, envy, fear, anxiety. Put away striving, offenses, hurt feelings, discontentment. Cast off the old man, lay down all that is self, all that is ego, every vain glory. Put off everything that is not of Me and be baptized in the Holy Spirit, with the Fire, with the Light!
In the face of all that the enemy throws at us, throw LOVE back. Choose God’s image. Choose to be His daughter. Though the world may tell us, yes, yes, up to a point, but we can’t allow x y z to do x y z…NO, turn the other cheek, give your cloak too, give it all, lay it all down, love not your own life…unto death! Repent and be baptized in the Spirit of God. BE Love, BE Light, as HE is Love, as HE is Light. Go forth and bear much fruit unto our Lord. Choose LIFE.
God be with us all today and may His Holy Spirit wax mighty in us!
